Do you get mad when people want to name their baby the same name as you are naming yours?

It took me a long time to come up with my baby name darn it. Then someone in my birthing class is naming their baby the same exact 1st and middle name. Kinda ticked me off. I guess I'm weird. Maybe it's just the hormones?

No you are not weird. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for many many years at this point. His brother stiole the Zachary Alexander fromus. Then we had decided to name our first daughter Cassandra grace and call her Cassie, his nephew named his daighter Cassidy Faith nad they call her Cassie so now my husband feels like we can't use Cassie. Then We liked Nicolai for a boy but we were going to call him Cole, same summer that Cassie was stolen by nephew our niece named her son Colton and they call him Cole. So we had a huge family meeting and called dibs on our fav girls name and boy name. All of our friends know our baby drama. last summer we went out of state to adopt a baby boy (adoption failed) we were going to name him Alexander, one of our friends husbands asked what name we had chosen if the baby had been a girl so we told him Laurelai Elizabeth. Three weeks later they announce they are pregnant. she had the baby last week and named her Laurelai Elsbeth, she claimed they had no idea what our baby names were. None of our friends believe her and they have pretty much been exiled. (We were not super close with them). Sorry for the rant but yes I do hate it. it is a very rude thing to do.

Reply:Let it go. Somewhere, someone is going to have the same name as your child. It really doesn't matter.
Reply:I did get a little erked when my neighbors named their son Jaxon 3 months before I had my Jaxon (they didn't know we were naming him that) but I think they thought I copied them too! Now I know several Jaxon's ! I get po'ed but at the same time, as soon as you come up with something cute it becomes popular so I guess we can't complain to much there will probably never be a child that has a truely unique name! What are you name. What are you having?
