What are some of the worst names to name a kid?

Just wondering lol. The one I was think of was Walter. lol yikes!

What are some of the worst names to name a kid?
best one i've heard was from another answerer who said her friend calls her baby you-reen but spells it Urine.
Reply:fred
Reply:billy,David and etc. those are them everyday names u need a name that u don't hardly hear
Reply:These rules should be a Law when you have a child:

1. No "trendy" names. How many kids will have the same name by the time your kid goes to school?

2. No last names as first names. That's just snobby.

3. No names of Places. How many kids do you know that are named "Austin"??

4. No names of Things or Objects. "Apple"?? Come on.

5. No words you heard in the Hospital. My cousin is an Premie ICU nurse and he has seen people name their kids after diseases because they thought the word was pretty.

6. Unless you are a Hippy in the 60's don't name your kid after the seasons or weather.

7. "Brandy" is the most common name for a Dog. Don't name your girl "Brandy"

8. No uni-sex names like "Chris", "Kelly" or "Pat", it's just confusing.

9. Think about what the name will mean when they get older. "Billy" is cute at 4. "Billy" is redneck at 40.

10. Don't repeat the name like John Johnson.

11. Don't make something up. Do you think that a "Laquanzaa Shreek" can be a VP of IBM??

12. Don't use a name that looks like you grabbed the letters randomly out of a scrabble bag.
Reply:Often times it depends on the last name, since there are few names that are in themselves bad, though some are so outdated as to be odd. For example, David is hardly a bad name. But if the kid has a middle name of Issac and a last name of Kennedy... Well yeah, that isn't good.

However, the worst single name that one can give their child is anything made up. Skyler is NOT a name, it is a crime against humanity.
Reply:Edwin, Hercules, Edward, Prince William...
Reply:Just look at baby names by the rich and famous

Moonshine, River

But the best one is Tipper (GORE) and beleive it or not she is the lady who created Parent advisory lyrics sticker idea on albums after listening to Darling Nikki (mastubating in a magazine) on the Prince Album Purple Rain! Perhaps people should have a sticker over baby naming books saying Children advisory Names (don't call your children stupid names as they will be beaten the f*ck out of at school and picked on for the rest of their lives don't torture your children please!)
Reply:Lucifer, Adolf, Mistake.
Reply:Never, ever give a kid a name because you think it would be funny or cool. Parents are universally seen as stupid by their kids already, don't prove them right. First, don't make the kid's name something you'd laugh at before he even gets to school, like Filbert Puffiwinkle Johnson, or the pun Stone Wall (apparently, puns are popular in England). Don't make your kid sound bad@ss before he even gets a chance, like Maxx Payne or Serious Sam; this is nickname territory only. As a rule, don't make up new names or spellings, since you're never as smart as you think you are. Never name a kid something that fits in only with a fringe movement, like hippie names (Star, Sunshine, Moon, Flower); you never know what direction your kid's life is gonna take.
Reply:Well..My husbands mothers name is LaVonda..and his sisters sons name is Taja...and I have a girlfriend getting married soon, her fiances name is Tajeth...shortened to T.J. thank goodness! My neighbors daughter is soooooo cute but her name is Agnus...but the one name I think will probably make everyones mouths drop is a girl in my daughters second grade class...get ready...her name...is....Dionne Gets-Down-Often..I swear on it. I have issues with a child, especially a young girl, having to grow up with this name. I do think maybe she is of some Native American descent..but still, she has to go to public school!!

"I read about a woman who named her twins Gonorrhea and Syphilis. Another one named hers Morphine and Opium, saying that when she heard that she heard they were products of a wild poppy, and their poppy was as wild a man as she'd ever known. Also, a joke about a couple who called their 3 kids Eeny, Meeney and Miney, saying "There ain't gonna be no Moe." "

Should the owner of the cubs sell naming rights to wrigley field witch means they would change the name of it?

The should change the name of Wrigley to Loserville or Losers Field.

Should the owner of the cubs sell naming rights to wrigley field witch means they would change the name of it?
I hope they don't ....but no matter what it will always be Wrigley to me.

EDIT :

That's what she said.... The owners name was Wrigley....he just happened to own a candy factory as well. It's not called Wrigley's Double mint park now is it.
Reply:You guys who say no are missing something really important - the field is already corporate sponsored!! They are named after the Wrigley chewing gum company! They were one of the first! People just seem to forget that Wrigley field is a corporate name already.
Reply:if a few million dollars in revenue is worth turning Wrigley field into Brittany Spears field, then sure, but they would be doing a disservice to the great tradition if they did.
Reply:No! NO! NO! I hate this garbage seeing "comerica park and conseco field" and any sports arena named for a sponsor. If they pay for the entire stadium, then they should have the right to name it, but not at any other time. It damages the sports. I also hate "the GMAC bowl and the tortinos bowl and all the bowls that are now named for corporations. I am sick and tired of having advertisers in my face all the time. I watch sports to relax not have some idiot company in my face selling me something. The commercials are bad enough.
Reply:NO!!! That is the greatest ballpark right now
Reply:no because wrigley field has been wrigley since 1914 and nobody likes the horrible names like comerica an us cellular they'r just dumb to try and change the second olldest park in the majors after fenway
Reply:No, the cubbies should stay just the way they are.

How do you know which name to name which twin?

Say I am having twin boys. I have the names Alexander and Nickolas out for them. How would I decide which twin to name Alex and which twin to name Nick?

How do you know which name to name which twin?
I know someone that had twins and named them Devon and Dylan. They decided on the oldest being Devon and the youngest being Dylan because Dylan dilly dallied while she was in labor. I thought it was a cute story being told that. Try to associate something like that with the names. As for how they sound together, you may not be introducing them in that very order so I would say, sorry for those that looked at it this way, that really, the order like that doesn't matter to much. OR thinking about how the names are, you could have Nickolas being the younger since the end of the name almost spells LAST!
Reply:lol well the first answer isn't really relevant. Anyway, not that I actually have any experience giving birth to twins, but I imagine that you just GIVE a name to each one and let the apples fall where they may lol. I mean, they'll grow up as they will, I don't think being either Alex or Nick will change that too much (and I love your choices by the way!). Give the first kid out the name Alex and the next one Nick, if you want, although that may actually not be too good of a choice (reinforcing one as the first or leader, I mean, although doesn't that usually happen a lot anyway? a dominant twin presenting itself?). Sorry if this doesn't help too much lol.

Good luck and congrats!
Reply:We named our twins by their behavior in-utero. Each time we did an ultrasound, one was more shy than the other and always hiding behind the other.

We picked similar names by their outgoing and shy personalities ... and to this day, each one lives up to their name.

But you could also just go by which one is larger, which one is born first, etc.

Blessings
Reply:Good question. I guess you have to look at it another way. It doesn't matter. Their name won't define them. They will define their name. Whichever name they receive they will become who they are and it will never be the wrong choice.
Reply:Alex to the first son since when the names are put in alphabetical order Alex comes before Nick. Or... you can wait until they are born. You will feel it when they are in your arms.
Reply:I would say... Pick one name for the first born... Like decide now... OK the first born will be Alexander and the second Nickolas... or vise versa. That way they can be labled as they are born... then no confusion
Reply:you could name the first one alex b/c its the first letter in ABCs and then the second Nick b/c its after A...lol just my opinion.
Reply:Don't decide yet, each one will come out different with their own personality, name them then.
Reply:Nicholas and Alexander sounds better
Reply:Decide on which name will be for the first born and stick to it.
Reply:Like the twins on Full House? lol. Maybe go alphabetically, like the 1st one will be Alexander....?
Reply:Well... I like the name Nick better if that helps?!
Reply:alex first born
Reply:aw, thats like alex and nicky from full house!

name the first one that pops out the name you like better?
Reply:You will know when you see there little faces!!
Reply:dont name them after the full house kids! and u just look into their little faces and see what name u think suits each twin. that's what i'm planning on doing. im pregoo with twin girls right now

What are some good names to name my puppy ?

I got a new puppy but my family can't decide on a good name for him. We like Vegas and Carmel but we don't know any good names for him what do you think are some good dog names?

What are some good names to name my puppy ?
I really like Vegas. Here are some some other suggestions:

Sonny

Micro

Hugo

Colorado? lol
Reply:There are a lot of different kinds of names for dogs. What I like to do (for a non-human type name) is open a dictionary and see what word I open to. I let that inspire me and brainstorm from there. For example, if I hit the word Color, then I'd think, hmmmmm, hey! gee wolly I could name him a color. Like green or red or even purple. Hmmm, color is used in Art, maybe the name art? no, hmmmm. Well, you can make PAINTINGS, or a COLLAGE...?hmmm. Let's see, with a paint brush you can make brush strokes, how about STROKE? Or PET? Some dogs are SOFT when you pet them, some are ROUGH. ROUGH, TOUGH, TOUGH NOOGIES? hmmmm? And if you get bored and stuck on a word just open to a new word and start again. If that idea doesn't seem to be working you can thing of favorite places you've been to, or things that are fun to do and use the dictionary idea to work off of that. Worse comes to worse, call him bob.

What is the best way to search for a person- Name Last Name then City and State? or just name?

If I want to find a person and I know the general area that he might be located how to I submit this when I am doing a search. Is there a specific format to do this?

What is the best way to search for a person- Name Last Name then City and State? or just name?
if you want to find a person go to google and search his name with quotes"like this" if it comes up with too many results try doing this

"james morgan" england

if that still comes up with too many keep narrowing it down until you find who you are looking for.

hope i helped :-)
Reply:I dunno. But whatever you do don't go to Goggle or Elgoog because they always come up with like all these pages of people that don't have anything to do with that. Type in on google though.... Person Finder or Ppl Locator or something like that I think that would give you a website/

Here is my favorite:

Cold Pasta Salad Recipe

8 oz. pasta of choice

2 cups broccoli florets

1/2-1 whole tomato diced

1/4 cup onion (diced)

Are you naming your baby an extremely popular name?

http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/

This is a link to the Social Security Administration of popular baby names in 2006. Last updated on May 2007.

Are you naming your baby an extremely popular name?
i didn't think i was when i picked out my little girls name...she was born in 06 and wouldn't you know it was the 3rd one on the list
Reply:Yes and no. Our daughters are Paige and Mackenzie. Paige was born in 2002 and her name is #50. Mackenzie was born in 2006 and her name is #53. We our expecting our third child, and in 2006 his name ranked #17. His name will be Nicholas.

We never really thought about the popularity of our kids names because we haven't really seen many kids with these names in our area.
Reply:when i named my kids i didnt check the popularity of them but i also didnt know of anyone by the names!
Reply:I named my daughter Kaylee in 1994 and now it is very popular..But I don't care because I love the name and I named her that because KAY-is my middle name LEE-is my older brothers middle name...I still like the name Jennifer...It's cute...In fact, my daughter loves the name too..She asked me why I didn't name her that....lol..It's funny because when I was her age (14) that's the name I wanted to name my daughter when I grew up...lol
Reply:No, although I think there is a difference between "trendy" (like Madison or McKenzie) and a name that is classic, yet popular, like Emily.

My son's name is somewhere around the 400s on the Social Security Administrations list, as were the two girls names we had picked out. They aren't made up or off the wall--they just never caught on, and that's just fine with me.

I think those lists are a great idea for parents, especially first time parents who may have no idea what people are naming their babies. Many of them have the same experiences as people here have--choosing a name they thought was really different and unique, only to find out that the name is in the Top Ten. The SSA list, as well as lists for babies in your state, will give you a better idea of the likelihood of naming your child something that will be somewhat common among his peers (if that is something that concerns you).
Reply:I want to use Ethan, but I won't be having children for at least 6 years so hopefully it won't be that popular then. I try to stay away from extremely popular names.
Reply:Nope :)

Reply:Yes, my husband and I named our baby girl Kayla. It was in the top 20 names list on the website we encountered for 2006. =)
Reply:Yes. But it is a popular name among boys. Sounds best fpor a girl in my opinion though.
Reply:Well, when we chose our kids names (2 in 2004) we decided on names that my husband and I liked but hadnt heard anyone with those names.. and what do you know. both just happened to be on the top 5 that year! I was livid! I didnt want my kids to be in a classroom with 5 other kids with that name but didnt want something off the wall! oh well. my son was born in 2007 and his name was I believe in the 100s.
Reply:I named my son James and my daughter Leona. Leona isn't in the top 1000 but James is.

We're thinking about having a third and we will choose a classic, not trendy name like William or Amelia.
Reply:i hate popular names...i want something no one has...who cares if someone thinks its wierd...i rather have weird than oh so common! :)

Can you help us naming our house with good meaning. My name Seena and husband name Lohidakshan. We are Hindus.?
You can named as " AASHIRWAD " means blessing.
Reply:Ganesh Sha'tehn my hindi is reallly rusty... but a house blessed would find Ganesh, as graceful and happy he is, bleesing all that would enter wit h peace an joy..so it would be a 'little house of Ganesh'.. my apologies; i have nt heard or spoke hindi in a LOT of years.. an have lost most of it.. but if i remember right, Ganesh is graceul and happy, and all in his presence wold also feelthis..
Reply:Khushi. Its the only hindi word I know, and it means happiness. Im sure that you would want the time you spend in your home to be happy, and therefore it does have meaning!

How can I include the female family names when naming our children?

We are not having a problem coming up with names using the male members of our families. For example, we have decided on Jack Dalton (boy) from his grandfather and my grandfather. We have also decided on Camdyn Layne (girl) from my grandfather and his mother picked out Layne.

However, we want to include our grandmothers and/or mothers. We need help! Any suggestions....

My grandmother's: Betty Jean and Margorie Iris

My mother: Pamela Jean

His grandmother's: Betty Jean and Margie LaDeema

His mother: Margie Lachone (spoken as la' shon)

How can I include the female family names when naming our children?
John instead of Jean, or use Eugene
Reply:Margie, Margie, and Margorie are all forms of Margaret. So maybe you could include Margaret, which would still be honoring them. Other names that are variants of Margaret are:

Greta, Etta, Maggie, Meghan, Maret, Gretchen

there are more here: http://www.behindthename.com/php/related...

Iris is really, really pretty, I think that's find the way it is, and would be great to include. It's unique and exotic.

Betty is a short form of Elizabeth, so you can include that, which I like much better than Betty.

I think Jean would make a great middle name.

I can't think of anything for Pamela, maybe make it a middle, or something like Melody, Melanie, Melissa, Melinda, as they all begin with mel and Pamela has Mel in it.

hope this helps :)
Reply:I'm hesitant to believe this question....for one thing, you're a new account....this is the only question you've asked. Also, both you and your husband (boyfriend?) have grandmothers named Betty Jean and Margie/Margorie??? I find a coincidence like that very hard to swallow, especially since Margorie is spelled more like Margie, than the traditional spelling, Marjorie. Anyway, I'm just as bored as you apparently are, so I'm gonna answer anyway.

John (for Jean) [nickname = Jack] Dalton

Camdyn-Jane (for Jean) Layne Margaret
Reply:your names so far are darling.

betty jean - Bethany Jean

Mergorie Iris- Megan Isabelle

Pamela Jean- Paige Julliet

Betty jean- Becca Joan

Margie LeDeema- Michelle Laurel

Margie Lachone- Lauren Margie

I am naming my girl Jersi and need a middle name?
I think the name is awesome..i think you should try to stick with a short middle name with a strong "punch". i think it would make it more difficult to give her a longer middle name then first name. With that being said i like

What are the best kind of names to name a baby?

I was wondering what type of names would be best for a newborn baby in this day and age?

Classic ?

Old-Fashioned ?

Trendy ?

Unique ?

[[ Give some examples of the names ]]

[[ %26amp;%26amp; why ]]

thank you ;]

What are the best kind of names to name a baby?
Josh Lindig.

It's a strong, ruggid, manly name. And it means "god rescues"

And use alan for the middle name, it's meaning is "rock"

:D :D : D :D

%26lt;3
Reply:ummmm...I would say Unique because noone wants to sit in a classroom and and be one of the 5 jaydens or aidans. And classic and old fashion names are just not my style. But I wouldn't go past unique to wierd like some names i've seen.
Reply:I like the classic ageless names, they can be a newborn or over 100

Names like: Elizabeth, John, Catherine, David, Michael, Joseph, James, Anne, Victoria, Danielle, Rebeca, Aaron, Alexander, etc

Saying that, I gave my daughter a trendy name

It's was the only name both my husband and I agree on and that when with our harsh last name

I think a name needs to go with the last name and both parents love the name. In my case, with a girl, we only found one trendy name be both agree on. If he had a boy, we agree with several strong classic ageless names
Reply:Something that you are going to love. It's your child so don't care what other people like and what they want because it's your choice...and that's the best part because you get to make the decision :) I think that if you like unique then you go for unique...if you like old-fasioned you go for old fashioned. Typically..I like the names Lauren, Katelyn, Julie, Juliann, Julia, Alyssa..and those type of names for girls. For boys I like the names..Justin..that's my favorite...Anthony, Jake, Christopher and Nicholas. Those are my favorite girls names and boy names. Hope I helped and best of luck!! Take care...
Reply:I prefer classic, strong names. I have two boys. One is James and the other is Samuel.
Reply:whatever you like.... i personally go for names with good meanings behind them!
Reply:I'm starting to like the old-fashioned names. I think it should be the new baby trend, and knock out the crazy weird names.
Reply:Well whatever name you will love and never get sick of. I really like the name Madelyn Grace for a girl because i think it is a beautiful name that i wouldn't get sick of. I like the name Madelyn because you can shorten it to Maddie. I like names that you can make shorter but they are still good names. I also like Rebecca Elizabeth. For boys i like Aaron Kiker. I always like Caden Matthew. all these names have different styles but i really like them.
Reply:Please, dont be like one of those people that want to name their child, Irelyn, (as in ireland, the country).

i Mean seriously.

You should have NO OLD-FASHIONED.

NO TRENDY. If you know trends, as in clothes, they eventually go out of style, and you want a name that never gets old, so then your child will have a normal life.

Have a Classic-meets-Unique.

As in,

Ariana-girl- not many girls have it and its not like it doesnt sound pretty and isnt OUT THERE.

Adrian- Girl- not many ppl have this name, but sitll, you have heard of it right?

(i have no idea whats with A's)

Trevor- Boy- It sounds off the edge as in Trendy, but still classic, heard of, but not Old fashioned like Mike, or tom. I mean serioulsy,

Jacob- leaning more towards classic- boy. Leaning more towards classic because of how you have seen TONS of jacobs,

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take the advice i said before, dont go too far OUT THERE, it just makes ur child miserable. in misery :)
Reply:The name depends on what you like .. I like unique .. If I have a girl I have these names picked out:

Tori Madison or Tru Hope
Reply:Well now a days everyone is going for Unique names , so there kids wont have 4 other Sara's in the class with them but it's going to back fire cuz everyone is picking unique names ... If you want your kid to be the only name in the class go with a a cute simple older name ..

These names use to be sorta unique and now everyone has them

aurora

Aaliyah

Hannah

Alexis

Zoey

But you probably wont see many

Anna

Jade

Amy

sara
Reply:I love Classics.
Reply:i would go for a unique name because don't you hate it when someone shouts your name, you turn around and it turns out they were calling someone else- very annoying

i would go for a name that has a personal story or meaning behind it like:

lilly... your mothers favorite flower or something- hypothetically

I HATE UNIQUE NAMES! thier usually weird and ugly sounding...go with something thats good, normal, and fits them well. dont go all out there and make them sound like a circus clown or something. i've seen some pretty crazy names on this. the ugliest of the ugliest....and seriously...just give them a name that will make them happy in the future....not something that will make them be made fun of.

:(
Reply:well, i say just a name that you LOVE or you will regret simply going with what others like. go with a name that your baby can grow with %26amp; not sound lame as an adult. i think some trendy names are cute, but as the child grows the name still sounds babyish. so, i say to ponder these things too.
Reply:It all depends on what YOU like. Not everyone will like everyone else's names. Some people would call classic and old-fashioned boring and some would call trendy and unique odd. So in that case, the name we chose for our daughter to us is old-fashioned with a trendy spelling could be interpreted by others to be a boring name with odd spelling. lol Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder/ baby namer. Good Luck!
Reply:Naming a child is personal to the couple. Some persons like to have their legacy continue by naming their child after grandparents, or even further down like great great grandparents. But if you are not into tradition then here is a list of popular names to consider:

Seth

Benjamin

Kaitlyn

Lisa

Sarah

Sasha

Michele

Zara

Taylor (boy or girl)
Reply:It really matters what you and the father (if he is in the picture) like.

In my opinion, I would stay away from trendy names because my 5th grade class had 4 Jessicas and 5 Dannys. I wouldn't want my child to e one of many.

On the other hand, having a Unique name seems to be getting out of hand. I would want my child to be able to spell his/her name. His/her name would be mispronounced all their lives, which believe me, is annoying after a while.

I would stick with names that you like that also have nicknames. I hated my name all my life (mainly because it was old-fashioned and pronounced wrong Joesipheene, pronounced as Josephine) and always went by my middle name or a nickname. It is also a nice option when there are multiple of the name in a class. In one class I taught we had a couple of Emilys, this transformed to E, Emily Jo, Emmy, and Lee. For that reason I tend to gravitate toward more classic names like Zachary, Isabelle, Jonathan etc.
Reply:I think its all about personal taste.

My daughter's first name is an adaption of my niece's middle name. My daughter's middle name is her father's, aunt's and both grandfathers' names combined. Even if her name is considered popular and trendy by others, We know there's a reason behind her name.

So my personal opinion on names are that they should mean something to you. I also like biblical names, they've truly stood the test of time and there's no "going out of style" when you pick something that's been around for thousands of years.

I am thinking about naming my new son Stacy? Wouldn't that be a cool name for him? What do u think?

I just had a new baby boy and I am thinking about naming him Stacy. Isn't that a great name. What do u think?

I am thinking about naming my new son Stacy? Wouldn't that be a cool name for him? What do u think?
yeah yeah yeah, yuck it up people.... first I don't think these people read your question good "I just had a new baby, and I am thinking about naming him Stacy".... how did you have it, and not name it yet...LOL

anyway, when my mom named me Stacy 37 years ago, she and my dad had never heard of a girl named Stacy.... It was typically a boy name....

Spelling it Stacy and Stacey are typically boy spellings, But Staci is typically the girl spelling....typically.

Anyway, I didn't pick my name, and yes I got made fun of, and yes it has now become more of a girls name.....

I bet some of you think that Heath Ledger, and Jake Gyllenhal are really gay too.
Reply:I like it...it goes either way...Make sure to use a masculine middle name tho...I once new twin bros named Shannon And Staci
Reply:you could change your yahoo name to Stacy's Mom
Reply:it is ok but it is a boy and girl name.
Reply:I knew one guy named Stacy and he hated his name. He uses it now that we are older but he always went by initials growing up and would correct the teacher on the first day of school. It is too feminine even though I like the name. It is ultimately your decision but I would give him a alternate middle name that he could also go by if he chose to.
Reply:My cousin named her son Stacey-Ray.

Stacy is a girls name, but Stacey with an "e" is for both boy and girl.

Here's a site to browse.

Reply:Sure! I have an Uncle Stacy, and he is the greatest. He is so nice, so sweet, and he's a millionaire. He is very good looking, very lucky, and living the best life you could live. I think it is a great, great name. It is NOT a "girl's name". It is a unisex name, and is perfectly manly or feminine, depending on the person. Like Shannon or Leslie, it could go either way. if you like it, GO FOR IT!
Reply:It's a nice name but not a name for a boy, you might want to reconsider the name. Congrats and best of luck.

Reply:i don't even know where to begin, I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut, Congrats!
Reply:I guess I am in the minority on this one but I think it's cool. I like unique names; including names that are typically associated with the opposite sex.
Reply:I've known men named Stacy, but I don't like it. I just think it sounds like a girl name. Sorry.
Reply:I think Stacy is a girl's name. I think Steven or Stephan is better.
Reply:sorry i think stacy is more of a girls name
Reply:i would also think about it again i have a few girl friends that are named stacy also.....sorry
Reply:I agree w/ the 1st poster....you have to consider all the possibilities of him getting teased at school. My husband %26amp; I eliminated a lot of names that way.
Reply:It's not something I would go with but if you like it then go ahead.

I have to laugh at everyone saying it's a girl's name. Stacy is originally a man's name.
Reply:Your poor kid is going to need so much therapy.
Reply:no.its a girls name no offence. Stacy! i never herd of a boy clled stcy
Reply:i think it's a decent name, but perhpas consider Pacey instead. because stacy is usually a girls name, he may feel embarrased that there happnes to be a girl in his class with the same name. also, it helps to visualize what a man named stacy might look like. i don't picture a very masculine sort, but thats my opinion.
Reply:i really like it
Reply:its only a good name if you dont mind him being teased in school. Im all for unusual names, but dont do that to him

I am naming my son Peyton. Can you help me pick a middle name ?His last name is Arnold.?

I would use a name that flows with the other two names, like Jacob, Christopher. Use a name of one of your relatives.

I am naming my son Peyton. Can you help me pick a middle name ?His last name is Arnold.?
tom
Reply:Just for fun... the Peyton family (surname) was a prominent English family, and Robert Peyton was a settler in Gloucester county, Virginia in the 1600's. In one of the families I work, the name was given to someone as a first name, and it has been passed down in that family to this day. I have seen it used for both males and females.

And being a genealogist, I love what they used to do.. using mom's maiden name as a middle name. Makes it more personal. Or, maybe honoring mom's father, by using his name.
Reply:I read through the list of people before me and I have heard that an unusual name can be helpful to a girl, but a hindrance to a guy. So, in case he doesn't like Peyton (and have you thought about the nicknames--would you like him called"Pay",for instance, or would that bother you, because people invariably shorten names, whether you like it or no) so in case he doesn't like Peyton, I think it would be good to give him a strong name in the middle.

I agree with those who say the name should flow. Because of that I think a three syllable name would be good like Anthony, because the first and last syllables are vowel sounds which keeps the three name combo flowing.

Peyton Alexander Arnold might be nice. (Alex is a good nickname) and the r flows to the a. That's four syllables, though.

Also think about how the initials look. PAA. Do you like that or not.

I also liked the idea about using the mother's maiden name if it works with the flow.

Anyway, good luck with it all. We're probably overwhelming you with all this.

What are good names to name my country retail store?

I live in a small town out in the country. I will be selling pet supplies/feed, handbags, gifts/novalties, camo/hunting, seasonal items, etc.

What are good names to name my country retail store?
Why not, the county's general store.

Ex: if you lived in Harris county, then you would name it,

Harris County General Store or even the town's name instead of the County

Where can I go to get help with naming my baby? I want to put my name and my husbands name together.?
Not a good idea, unless you can find a pre-existing name that SOUNDS like a combination of your names -- coined names are too confusing for both kids and their teachers to deal with. Kids don't need their names to be a reason they get made fun of -- and they will.

If your name were Samantha and you husband's name was Lemuel, you could name a boy Samuel and pretend it was a combo name.

Where do meteorologists get the names to name huricanes?

Do they follow a certain pattern, is it only names or can be any word?

Where do meteorologists get the names to name huricanes?
Experience shows that the use of short, distinctive given names in written as well as spoken communications is quicker and less subject to error than the older more cumbersome latitude-longitude identification methods. These advantages are especially important in exchanging detailed storm information between hundreds of widely scattered stations, coastal bases, and ships at sea.

Since 1953, Atlantic tropical storms have been named from lists originated by the National Hurricane Center. They are now maintained and updated by an international committee of the World Meteorological Organization. The original name lists featured only women's names. In 1979, men's names were introduced and they alternate with the women's names. Six lists are used in rotation. Thus, the 2005 list will be used again in 2011. Here is more information about the history of naming hurricanes.

The only time that there is a change in the list is if a storm is so deadly or costly that the future use of its name on a different storm would be inappropriate for reasons of sensitivity. If that occurs, then at an annual meeting by the WMO committee (called primarily to discuss many other issues) the offending name is stricken from the list and another name is selected to replace it.

Several names have been changed since the lists were created. For example, on the 2004 list (which will be used again in 2010), Gaston has replaced Georges and Matthew has replaced Mitch. On the 2006 list, Kirk has replaced Keith. Here is more information about retired hurricane names.

In the event that more than 21 named tropical cyclones occur in the Atlantic basin in a season, additional storms will take names from the Greek alphabet: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and so on. If a storm forms in the off-season, it will take the next name in the list based on the current calendar date. For example, if a tropical cyclone formed on December 28th, it would take the name from the previous season's list of names. If a storm formed in February, it would be named from the subsequent season's list of names.
Reply:You are welcome! I've been a weather fanatic since I was a little kid, plus my husband works in flood insurance and is often deployed as a result of hurricanes. lol Report Abuse

Reply:goes by alphabetical order and they choose a name for that letter that hasn't been used for a while.

hate to call a storm katrina one year and 2 yrs later call another katrina, so they might call the next one kevin.
Reply:They get the names off of a list and from my understanding, you can submit a name. I also learned that if a hurricane is really bad, they can't use that name again. So there won't be another hurricane Katrina.
Reply:Their Ex-Wives.

Your best bet to find out is to ask your local county clerk, or whatever the person is called in the counties over there that records births, deaths, and marriages. They should be able to give you all the information you need.

Can u name Name some famous Australians who have overcome diversity to achieve success ?

PLZ HELP!!!!!

Can u name Name some famous Australians who have overcome diversity to achieve success ?
My God!

Overcome diversity to achieve success ?

How about the ENTIRE country, matey!

Australia was a PRISON colony!

Out of humiliation, despair, poverty, cruelty, rape, physical abuse, etc came one of the finest countries in the world!

Any Australian person that can claim their family came through that from the very beginning...and still survive today...is a famous Australian in my book!

Oh, and the famous tennis player you are thinking of was Evonne Fay Goolagong Cawley.

She was the daughter of Kenny Goolagong, a sheep shearer. She grew up in Barellan,New South Wales, one of a family of eight children. A REAL success story.

She had a hugely successful international professional tennis career. She was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire in 1972 for services to tennis and Officer of the Order of Australia in 1982.

What will her middle name be? will you refer to her by that more often?' do you plan to put a name tag on her for spelling w/ pronunciation so others MIGHT get it correct?

I love different names %26amp; enjoy learning how to pronounce them. Most teen cashiers get instantly embarrassed but I always stress that I like different types %26amp; don't want to say it wrong; I also tell them my name which helps to relax the situation. Then I talk to them about how they got this name %26amp; tell them how I got mine. I repeat their name until I can say it correctly too. It helps break the ice with ppl becoming so snooty these days.

A name like that (and no offense) will get her a life-time of teasing, confusion when she is trying to get a job, go to the doctor, and will have her dreading being called for role the first day of every class she ever goes to.

Studies show that a very, very unusual name can be a real burden on a child, so think carefully before you choose...because she may turn 18 and settle on something totally different...

But your daughter might be teased alot if she has a name that's TOO rare! Many would mis-pronounce it, Mis-spell it, and it would also be very confusing when she went for appointments, or on dates! Maybe It could become her middle name instead?

What name brand name and model wireless router is good to connect my PS3 online?

I'm thinking of getting another PS3 so my brothers and I can play online against each other but I don't know much about which router is better than which. Any information you can give is very much appreciated. especially if you play PS3 online too and play wireless. Thank you.

What name brand name and model wireless router is good to connect my PS3 online?
If your PS3 is close to your modem (where your internet comes in through the wall) then you can connect to the internet using an ethernet cable. This is the fastest and easiest way to go online and has a near perfect connection.

If the PS3 is too far away then a wireless router is good. You dont need to waste money on rangemax etc. A standard router is fine. Rangemax is only good if your PS3 will be miles away from your router like 2 floors below or on the total other side of the house.

Here is a list of great, cheap routers on Amazon. Read the reviews and see what other people thought before buying them. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_...

Does your child have an out of the ordinary name? Are you thinking of naming your baby something "different"?

My goddaughters are Vantasha (Pronounced van-tAsia) and Zakkaryiah ( za-car-eeah)

I love them and their names!

Does your child have an out of the ordinary name? Are you thinking of naming your baby something "different"?
My daughter's name is Fiona. I absolutely love her name, and I think that it reflects our family's Celtic heritage. When I chose the name, when I was pregnant, I never even thought of the fact that the Princess from Shrek is named Fiona...Lots of people brought that up as soon as I told them though. My mom was worried everyone would call her an ogre. But since she was born nobody has even commented on the Shrek movie - she's just too adorable! Her middle name is Rosemary, after her great grandmother.

We're hoping to have a boy next, and if we do it'll be Liam Michael.
Reply:My name is Kristianne. It is pronounced Kris-chyarn. Well that was the way my mother intended it. But when people read it I get a whole different array of things ranging from Christian to Christina.

Most people will pronounce it Kristy-arne. I have to say that I do like have a "different" name, but my only advice would be this: Make sure that it is spelt the way you intend it to be pronounced. I have never had a nickname and never will - so spelling is imparative!

Oh and Vantasha reminds of that movie - FANtasia!
Reply:Ava's name is not different. Actually when she was born it wasn't a very popular name at all, now I saw it was on the top 5 girl names on a website. I didn't even know anyone named Ava, recently on Y!A I have seen at least 4 baby's named Ava.

Future children - Haven't thought about it.. because I am not having any more any time soon ha.. but I don't think I will name them anything too "different."
Reply:Well i like putting two names into one. I want to name my baby Gracelin Belle Marie. So instead of having 5 names she would only have four. And for everyone that thinks four names is horrible then i must be horrible. I have 4 names and i turned out fine. I knew how to spell ALL my names by the second grade, Mercy Sadie Mercedes ______. My last name is weird. And i have known how to spell all my names.
