Can people name names, cities and states? Am I libel for anything?

I created a blog which has become very popular. Should I be concern that some people who are writing about friends, family, people they don't like by first and last names. They are also even including the city and the state where they live. What's being written is sometimes not very flattering at all, actually quite mean. Am I liable for anything? Isn't this freedom of speak?

as the blog owner, you can mask or edit at will. I would, you don't want to get dragged into the middle of someone ELSE'S 'beef', ya know?
Reply:Go to anatha_brrs and I will tell you.
Reply:Do you know those people personally?????????????
Reply:You can use cities and places because they are common, however when you use a persons name it identifies that person directly. Whereas a city or place doesn't. Thats the difference. You could use area, place or events without disclosing any person. Just don't specify anything unique to that person and use general words, terms or places.
