Im naming my baby Neveah Aaron and my mom thinks that its to disturbing for a baby to have as a name?HELP?

me and my boyfriend love the name but she dont like it, should i change it or leave it the way it is

Im naming my baby Neveah Aaron and my mom thinks that its to disturbing for a baby to have as a name?HELP?
If he is named Neveah, he will be called Nev.

I think it would sound better as a middle name

Aaron Neveah.

I like the name Aaron Quinn

Also like Nevada or Ned better than Neveah.
Reply:If you are going for the whole "heaven" backwards it should be Nevaeh not Neveah!!

If it is for a boy I wouldn't name him that, if it is a girl the common female spelling is Erin.
Reply:What gender is it? Neveah (which is awful, trendy, tacky, and misspelled, BTW) is a gir's name, and Aaron is a boy's name.

Change Neveah no matter what gender the baby is. It's ugly, trendy, and stupid. Use Aaron if it's a boy, use Erin if it's a girl. Instead of Neveah/Nevaeh, how about Naomi? It's biblical, pretty, and much less common than illiterate Nevaeh/Neveah.
Reply:Although you should go with what you love I do have to agree with your mom on this one. I do hate the name Neveah.
Reply:A lot of times kids with names that are too unique have a horrible time getting teased in school. Neveah sounds like Nivea....the lotion. My opinion is you should change it. Something unique is nice but find a name that doesnt sound like something you find at the store.
Reply:This is your child and not your mother's decision. If you let her decide this she may think she has the right to make other decisions for your child. Disturbing- oh please that is crazy. I personally like it. Either way your child will only know the name you give him and your mother needs to butt out. I don't know why people think they have a right to make such decisions. It's the child's parents who should decide.
Reply:Well, it's your kid so you name it what you want but Neveah is awful. Is this a boy or a girl? Because Neveah is feminine and Aaron is masculine.
Reply:Listen, your mother already got to name her children, this is YOUR child so YOU get to name it. If you and your boyfriend like Neveah Aaron, then go for it, I don't see anything wrong with the name. It's your baby so you should be happy with the name you choose, your mother will just have to accept that.
Reply:I like Nevaeh but not Aaron.

How about Nevaeh Grace?
Reply:Its up to the parents to name the baby and no one else unless you ask for opinions. And since you just did, in my opinion the first name sounds like a girl and is hard to imagine how to say, and the second name is for a boy so I'm not even sure what sex child you're having. The name is a little awkward.
Reply:It is disturbing. I really don't like the name Neveah, it is awful and overused. Just a thought. Also, it is too trendy, it is a madeup name. And, when she grows up and applys for a job, she won't get it, because people do judge other people by their name, and if someone was hiring, they would have multiple applications, and if one says Neveah and another that says Aaron (just for instence), they would hire Aaron, unless it's McDonald's. Don't do that to your child, i'm begging you. She will thank you if you give her a more classic name. With a classic name, you can still have fun with it and make it unique. When i was born no one had my name and i love it, but it is still classic and unique at the same time. E-mail me if you want and i will give you some info and suggestions. But, we can't make you do anything and you should follow your heart, you, your boyfriend, and daughter will have to live with it. Although if she grows up to be a drug dealer because she can't get a decent job, then i will be affected by it and others, but it is your child.

Choose your path and take it wisely. May God be with you. Best Wishes.
Reply:i dont like the name, but it is your child.

do what makes you happy %26amp;%26amp; use a name that you love.
Reply:Are you planning on having an intersexed (hermaphrodite) child? How about Celia Erin for a girl? The (disputed, but probable) meaning of Celia is heaven. One potential meaning of Dashiell is heavenly. You could name a boy Aaron Dashiell.
Reply:Wait, is it a girl or a boy? Aaron is the male spelling. Erin is the female.

Also, Nevaeh is an atrocious, trashy name... especially since it's Heaven backwards, and you didn't even spell Heaven correctly ("Neveah").
Reply:Nevaeh is more feminine then masculine, and like the first poster said, it gets almost always top billing as the worst name in any surey.
Reply:Neveah is godawful atrocious--and if you were going for the overplayed trend of "Heaven spelled backwards", you spelled it wrong.

Aaron is not a girls' name.
Reply:im not sure why its disturbing to be honest! neveah seems to be quite popular these days . aaron on the other hand is o.k but i woulld spell it as erin for a girl!! aaron spelled this way is for a boy!! this is your baby so you name her whatever you want to name her. im a grandmother and i am getting the honor of naming my grandaughter if its a girl but before i pick a name i will certainly make sure mom and dad like it! good luck honey and best wishes on your new baby!!
Reply:it is up to ya but i love the name neveah for a girl~not to big on aaron but it is your choice~who cares wht your mom thinks she had her chance when she named you
Reply:It's your choice, but the name Neveah is way overused. I don't care for the name in the first place. Also, with the way you spelled Aaron, I would assume you are having a boy and I've only ever seen Neveah used as a girl's name.
Reply:She had her chance at naming her children. Now its your turn. If you love the name, why would you consider changing it just because of one person (or 100 people0? Once the baby is here, it won't matter anymore. She'll have a beautiful grand-daughter.

My MIL was very pushy when it came to what we wanted to name our daughter. To this day she says, "I still think you should have called her Bethany Kathleen". YUCK! (No offense to anyone with that name. lol) I just remind her that she got to name all her children whatever she wanted and I enjoy having the same right, thank you very much. It usually shuts her up for a few months.
Reply:Yes your mum is correct, that would be disturbing.
Reply:I don't like that name at all. I'm not even sure how to pronounce it. I can't even tell if it is a girl name or a boy name.

As an alternative, what about Naia (pronounced Nye-ah) for a girl name and Nolan if its a boy.
Reply:While it is ultimately your choice, I don't care for the name at all. Is it a boy or a girl?

And, I must Nevaeh is tragically downmarket. Ask a Y!A question "Which names do you really dislike?" and Nevaeh always makes the list - usually more than once.
