How do you know which name to name which twin?

Say I am having twin boys. I have the names Alexander and Nickolas out for them. How would I decide which twin to name Alex and which twin to name Nick?

How do you know which name to name which twin?
I know someone that had twins and named them Devon and Dylan. They decided on the oldest being Devon and the youngest being Dylan because Dylan dilly dallied while she was in labor. I thought it was a cute story being told that. Try to associate something like that with the names. As for how they sound together, you may not be introducing them in that very order so I would say, sorry for those that looked at it this way, that really, the order like that doesn't matter to much. OR thinking about how the names are, you could have Nickolas being the younger since the end of the name almost spells LAST!
Reply:lol well the first answer isn't really relevant. Anyway, not that I actually have any experience giving birth to twins, but I imagine that you just GIVE a name to each one and let the apples fall where they may lol. I mean, they'll grow up as they will, I don't think being either Alex or Nick will change that too much (and I love your choices by the way!). Give the first kid out the name Alex and the next one Nick, if you want, although that may actually not be too good of a choice (reinforcing one as the first or leader, I mean, although doesn't that usually happen a lot anyway? a dominant twin presenting itself?). Sorry if this doesn't help too much lol.

Good luck and congrats!
Reply:We named our twins by their behavior in-utero. Each time we did an ultrasound, one was more shy than the other and always hiding behind the other.

We picked similar names by their outgoing and shy personalities ... and to this day, each one lives up to their name.

But you could also just go by which one is larger, which one is born first, etc.

Blessings
Reply:Good question. I guess you have to look at it another way. It doesn't matter. Their name won't define them. They will define their name. Whichever name they receive they will become who they are and it will never be the wrong choice.
Reply:Alex to the first son since when the names are put in alphabetical order Alex comes before Nick. Or... you can wait until they are born. You will feel it when they are in your arms.
Reply:I would say... Pick one name for the first born... Like decide now... OK the first born will be Alexander and the second Nickolas... or vise versa. That way they can be labled as they are born... then no confusion
Reply:you could name the first one alex b/c its the first letter in ABCs and then the second Nick b/c its after A...lol just my opinion.
Reply:Don't decide yet, each one will come out different with their own personality, name them then.
Reply:Nicholas and Alexander sounds better
Reply:Decide on which name will be for the first born and stick to it.
Reply:Like the twins on Full House? lol. Maybe go alphabetically, like the 1st one will be Alexander....?
Reply:Well... I like the name Nick better if that helps?!
Reply:alex first born
Reply:aw, thats like alex and nicky from full house!

Reply:You will know when you see there little faces!!
Reply:dont name them after the full house kids! and u just look into their little faces and see what name u think suits each twin. that's what i'm planning on doing. im pregoo with twin girls right now
