If you were expecting twins, would you name them rhyming names or names that start with the same letter?

you can also say two completely different names. Please also say the names with the choice you choose.

If you were expecting twins, would you name them rhyming names or names that start with the same letter?
Do not do the name matching thin in any way.

These babies will have to share everything in life as it is. Let them be individual in some way.

Having to share birthdays, parents, school friends, bedroom, and everything else they need to be identifiable as individuals at least some of the time. Give them their own individual names the are not linked to their sibling in any way (rhyme, initials etc.)
Reply:I have totally identical twin girls, and I did not do this, nor do I dress them alike. I feel that it is important for them to be viewed as individuals, and not just as a unit. Everyone I have ever known that was a twin and whose parents named them rhyming names and dressed them alike has said they hated it, and were embarrassed and felt singled out by it. Yes, it might be cute while they're little, but you have to remember that someday they are going to be teenagers, and it will then no longer be cute, only annoying to them.
Reply:Even if (God forbid!) the twins were conjoined, I'd still want them to be distinct individuals instead of just "the twins". Rhyming names or names starting with the same letter simply reinforce the concept of a blob called "the twins".

Definitely use different sounding names. If you are hell-bent on some kind of theme, then make it subtle.

dark

Dougal: Scottish for dark stranger

Nigel: English name based on the Latin word for black

Leila: Arabic for night

Maura: Italian for dark-skinned

It's a theme but not terribly obvious which will give the children their chance to be themselves.
Reply:If i were to have twin girls i was going to name them Brilyn Jean and Lyla Carmelle, I wouldnt name them with rhyming names cuz as they get older when you go to call their names you will get them confused. I would just give them names with the same letters or just names you can agree on i couldnt imagine cuz it was hard for me and my husband to come up with one name.
Reply:Different names. 100%.

That can be really annoying for the twins to have rhyming names. I guess it would be okay to start with the same letter (ie. Matthew and Michael) or end in the same syllable (ie. Ashley and Lindsey), but rhyming names like Mia and Tia are really childish to me.

If I had twins:

Boys: Dorian and Abraham

Boy/girl: Xavier and Jasmine

Girls: Jasmine and Kyrielle
Reply:I have twin girls and I have another set of twins on the way :)

We haven't found out the genders yet, but hopefully we'll be finding out this week!

Anyway, we haven't decided on names yet for the twins on the way. We don't even know the sexes, like I mentioned...but our twin girls' names are Heather and Kelsey. They're not match-y in the least, and we're fine with that.
Reply:it depends when i had the twins...

The names i have to name my children are

Dylan Michael James and Taylor Morgan Skye

Because they have such special family meaning.. but if I were to have twins after that they would probably start with the same letter:

Boys

Connor Caiden Kai

Chase Tyler Jack

Girl boy

Brooke Isabella Rose

Blake Nathaniel Chase

Girls

Lilly Bella Rose

Luca Bailey Reese

:)
Reply:NO

I have no clue what names we would use (because this would be a collaboration between myself and my husband), but the most I would try and do is either:

* Have the names have the same origin

* Have the names have complimentary meanings (ex. Cara and Mia could translate into "my beloved", as the phrase caramia)

* Have the names be anagrams of each other (ex.Aidan %26amp; Nadia, and Amy %26amp; May)

But I would make sure that each child had their own individuality... and names are the first, and biggest step towards that!

*** UPDATE ***

OK - coming back with twin names that I might consider...

Sera Rhosyn (Sera means "princess" while Rhosyn means "Rose")

Griffin Rhys (Griffin means "prince" while Rhys means "enthusiasm")

So I would have my enthusiastic prince and my rosy princess - plus 3 of the names would be Welsh...
Reply:I would name my twins two completely different names. I think that they can grow to be their own people without being defined by the other sibling. I hate names like Riley and Kylie and I'm more lenient to names like Mary-Kate and Ashley. But some examples are on the site I have posted as a source below. Check it out.
Reply:I'd name them two completely different names. If they were twin boys i'd name them Ethan Carter and Jonah Luke. Twin girls i'd name them Emma Faith and Rachel Elisabeth. If one boy/ one girl i'd name them Ethan Carter and Emma Faith. What do ya think?
Reply:Two completely different names -

middle names are family names

girls-

Evelyn Lucina and Gabriella Emilie (Evie and Bella)

Boys -

William Peter and Adam Wallace

Boy/Girl -

William Wallace and Gabriella Emilie (Will and Bella)

I feel it is important that they have completely separate identities!
Reply:Not rhyming, but I would probably make them like...sound well together.

Examples:

Girls: Violet Bella and Juliet Elizabeth

Boys: Oliver Jude and Alexander Lennon (I was totally not thinking of the Beatles references in their middle names until just now haha)

Girl/Boy: Olivia Jane and Holden James
Reply:I'm not sure but I think I would name them with the same letter.

Girls: Jillian and Jessa

Boys: Jase and Jude

Girl and Boy: Jessa and Jude

All my kids will start with J since my name is Jenna and my boyfriend's name is Jayson.
Reply:Names that start with the same letter are usually nicer, its hard to find two nice names that rhyme. If they're both girls, Leah and Mia are both nice though. What about names that don't rhyme but shound kinda similer. Like Hollie and Lillie.
Reply:Twin girls:

Bailey Grace (Possibly another middle name) and Lauren Ainsley Jeanne

Twin boys:

Alexander Ryan David and Connor James (Possibly another middle name)

One girl/one boy:

Alexander Ryan David and Lauren Ainsley Jeanne.

Different names.
Reply:Twins are two separate people. They will already be grouped together their whole life. You may as well give them a little difference they can hold on to.

If I had twins I would just name them 2 random non-matching non-rhyming names. Boys would be Nathaniel and James.
Reply:I'm not sure. I have a few favorite twin names.

Lauren %26amp; Leanne

Karilyn %26amp; Kristen

Gianna %26amp; Julia

Alexa %26amp; Sidra

Gemma %26amp; Jade

Alicia %26amp; Olivia

Katelyn %26amp; Madison

For boys names, I'm not sure, but I'd use different letters.
Reply:NOT AT ALL

nothing catchy nothing rhyming nothing and not the same letter

either:

Sophia and Peyton

Peyton and Violet

Emma and Peyton

Violet and Sophia

Gavin and Ethan

Gavin and Owen

Nathan and Owen

Lucas and Gavin

Blake and Owen
Reply:If I had:

Twin boys: They would be named Avonaco Cayden Liam and Caelo Alexandre Broden

Twin girls: Angelie Nayeli Michele and Alessa Maralah Isabelle

Both: Avonaco Cayden Liam and Angelie Nayeli Michele

I would just go on my favorite names, and those are my four top favorites.
Reply:Completely different names.

My twins are Alec Hunter and Gabrielle Rose.

If they were both boys, they would have been: Alec Hunter and Harry Morgan.

If they were both girls, they would have been: Gabrielle Emilia and Rosalie Juliet.
Reply:No, never. I would use different names.

G/G: Evadne Cassandra %26amp; Juno Hermione

B/G: Rune Somerled %26amp; Evadne Cassandra

B/B: Rune Evander %26amp; Somerled Felix
Reply:ok so

Rhyming: Emma Grace %26amp; Jenna Clare

Sound similar: Caylie Grace %26amp; Katey Beth

Different: Alexis Nicole %26amp; Olivia Kathryn

Reverse Initials: Jessica Louise %26amp; Lauren Juliet
Reply:For girls Baily and Riley Jo.

and for boy i have Titan James, Taren Micheal or Tristian Noah

I dont have any for a boy and a girl together.

I hope i helped anyways.
Reply:I would give them my two favorite names regardless unless they rhymed, thats just tacky. If my two favorite names happened to start with the same letter I would use them but I would try to avoid it.
Reply:totally different names :]

twin girls:

jacey marie and taryn elizabeth

twin boys:

gage robert and dustin tyler

boy %26amp; girl:

jacey marie and dustin tyler

hope i helped :]

Reply:My sisters are twins. Their names both end in a.

Cassandra and Suzanna

If I were having twins I would just pick 2 names I already liked.

Amelia Belle

Melodie Soleil

Benjamin Etienne

Robert James
Reply:I would just do names that flow together.

For example I love the names - Alaina and Daniella, for twins ( girls)

Hope I helped :-)
Reply:I would do names with the same letter %26amp; different names:

Boys:

Chasen Cole %26amp; Creed Matthew

Myles %26amp; Keenan
Reply:i'd choose two completely different names.

gg - jovie and kate

gb - jovie and matthew

bb - matthew and jacob
Reply:I would give them names within the same category, like James and Edward or Maggie and Jenny or Catherine and Elizabeth.
