Thinking of naming my female Dachshund "Penny" is it a good name.?
Love the name. One of my favorite pups from work is named Penny. :D

Have heard that dogs respond well to two syllable names - especially those ending in Y.


Also - if she is red - the name will also desribe her color - have often thought the red doxies look like a copper penny
Reply:penny is good.as a matter of fact cats and dogs learn their names faster if the name ends in the e sound.i named my pets billy,suzie,kitty and dopie and they all end in the e sound.
Reply:my sister has a male dachshund named copper and she is getting a female adn is nameing her penny also, and its funny because of a "1 cents copper penny" pretty cute!!

Reply:Yes! That's an adorable name for a Dachshund! It's adorable period, actually. It's 10x cuter if the Dachshund is a copperish brown.
