Reply:I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Do you mean four names used to refer to the sides or do you mean four names of people involved on each side? If the former, then try:

Union

Federals, Billy Yank, Yankees, Yanks, Blue bellies

Confederate

Confederates, Rebs, Johnny Reb, Secesh, Rebels

If the latter, then try:

Union

Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, William T. Sherman, George G. Meade, Robert Gould Shaw, George B. McClellan, Joshua Larwence Chamberlain, Ambrose Burnside, Joe Hooker

Confederate

Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, James Longstreet, Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson, Ambrose Powell Hill, Peirre Gustave Tounat Beaureguard, Ralphael Semmes, Joe Johnston
Reply:If you're looking for the names of General Officers, here's a few:

Union: George Brinton McClellan. Ambrose Burnside, John Pope, William Tecumseh Sherman, and of course Ulysses S. Grant.

Reply:For the North: the Grand Old Army, the Yankees, bluebellies, the US Army
