How do i change the name my name onto the deed for land i inherited?

my mom recently passed away and i inherited some land from her. the land is in california and i live in nevada. im looking to sell it cause i could use some extra cash. but first i need to put it in my name. her attorny who did her trust said it would cost $2000 to do this and i would have to wait 6 months from her death to do it. is there a cheaper way that i could do it myself? what forms would i need? and is it true that i have to wait 6 months from her death? i dont know if i trust him he seems shady and i heard he works with a guy that owns a lot of land where mine is.

Contact a local title company in where the property is located they will tell you the truth. They have nothing to gain.
