Is naming our son the same name a friend stupid?

Our first son's name is Tanner and we really like the name Teague for our second sons name. The problem is we have a friend who's name is Teague and he has an older brother named Tanner. Both are at the age where they have kids too. Would this be tacky. We are not naming them after these boys we just liked the names. What are your thoughts? our only other names we like are Nolan, Talen, and Kahl.

I think those are great names too! Lets be real though.. these are friends, but not best friends. They are college buddies. You don't see them enough for the choice of your kids names to affect them. If anything they shoudl be honored that they have such unique names that you want to emulate. I would tell them your thoughts first and guage their reaction on that. Obviously if you saw them on an everyday basis and they had intentions of naming their kids tanner and teague, thats a little different. I think its a fine thing to do though.... I know a lot of people with shared names. Its a tribute, really.
Reply:As has been said already, its weird...and i think you know it is too to be even posting the question...i think there are enought names in the world that you dont have pick the names of 2 brothers that you both know.....i think the other names you have are cool and would defo go for them before using Teague.....congrats and good luck with the new baby x

Reply:I think if you are close to these people and see them often it would be weird. But if it is the opposite go ahead and choose the name you like. I like Noah, Tatton, Tristan, Nathaniel for boys.
