I am having a c-section on Tuesday, and will have two little girls! How do I decide which baby gets which name? My husband and I have a couple of ideas, but thought we'd just turn this question over to the Yahoo Answers community to get more ideas.
Thanks!
Naming same-sex twins; how do you decide which baby gets what name?
After the babies are born. Get both the girls together %26amp; say one of the names. Which ever girl responds first. a cry, leg or arm movement, yawn gets that name. Like she is claiming it. Just a random thought. I would like to here the ideas you and your husband came up with. Congratulations :) :)
Reply:Do It Alphabetically
Have the first baby Be the name that comes first in the alphabet and the second have the name that comes second in the alphabet
another way is to say the names together and see which flow better (ex: Rachel and Sarah or Sarah and Rachel) and give the older one the first name and the younger one the second name
lastly, figure out the meaning of both names, and the first few hours of the the babies life and see which name suites the baby.
Reply:My friend had triplets, all girls, and she had the same problem. What she did was go alphabetically. The babies were Lynn, Violet, and Britney. Britney comes first in the alphabet, so the first baby was Britney. Lynn is the second in the list, so Lynn was the second baby. And since Violet is at the end of the alphabet, she was third.
Reply:I had the same thing, C-section and twin girls, once you have the names, you can jsut instantly tell! I swear its soo freaky it took us 2 seconds we named our little on Bianca becasue it is more of a sassy name and she was crying while the name Hannah was like more calm and girly and our little hannie was jsut sitting their quietly! I'm tell you right now you will know when you see them I promise!!
Reply:I agree with the others. We had a name picked out for our first son and when I held him the first time, the name didn't fit. With my second son I knew what to name him right away. With this one we have picked a couple names and have decided to just wait until he is born in two weeks and we will decide once we see him.
You will know when you look at them and hold them. It is amazing how much personality a tiny baby can exude!!!
Go with your heart. Congrats and blessings on your delivery!!!!
Reply:I have a twin sister and my mom decided to name the first one out Nikki *thats me* and the second one christy *my sister* i would never name twins close sounding names... its annoying when they get older... just pick two you like and decide what the first born will be and the second one! simple as that ;) enjoy your bundles of joy... youre a very lucky couple!
Reply:Most mothers wait until they finally get to see their babies to make the decision. Have a couple "favorites" picked out, then after you deliver, you can look at them and make your decision. Just take your time, no need to rush. "Oh, she definitely looks like an Isabella! Just look at her eyes!" Hope that helps =)

Reply:If one baby has more spunk, give her the spunkier name.
If one is more calm, give her the quiet and calm name.
I would give it a day to see how they act.
Even though they're hardly moving and just developing their personalities, you could probably tell some distinct differences.
Reply:First, I would decide who's name comes first when introducing them. (You know, like everyone says Mary-Kate and Ashley, not Ashley and Mary-Kate)
I would give the first name to the first born, because I always assume that they are the oldest. It's less confusing that way.
Reply:i agree with the first answer. let your heart decide by looking at them. [[if i were you i would make the names very similar]] i love the confusingness. like when they get in school you know? like jamie and janie or Roamy and Rory or Lacie and Tracie
Reply:My friend had twins on May 8 of this year. The way she did it was she picked out the two names which were Alexander, and Noah. The first baby born was Alexander since it started with an A. The second Noah cause N is way after A. ABC order basically.
Reply:Pick one and say we are going to name the one that comes out first that name and the one that comes out 2nd gets the name that is left!
Reply:i think that when you see them for the first time your heart will decide goodluck!
Reply:When you look at them, after they have calmed down, and you too! lol, share an intimate gaze with each of them, and decide which name suits them. Good Luck! Maddy O
Reply:I would decide which two names i'm using ahead of time and then name each baby whichever seems right on the spot.
Reply:wait a few days until they develop more clear-cut personalities... then decide
Reply:Name the first one that comes out your favorite name. sometimes their mannerisms will tell you or the look on
their face. Good luck
Reply:ppl that i know told me they named their babies.. but when they were born they had to choose differetn name bacuase they dint think the names fit!!! choose a few sets of names for same sex twins!!
Reply:Honestly - I would look at them and let my heart make the choice. I had a second name picked out for my son just in case he did not look like a Zak.
Reply:Just look at them and you will know....
best wishes!!!
